It’s the end of an era here at Price First Taxis, and it’s one that comes with a mix of emotions – pride, gratitude, a little sadness, and a whole lot of celebration. After 13 incredible years with us, our much-loved driver Gerarde has officially retired.
Since 2011, Gerarde has been a core part of the driving team – a calm, reliable, and friendly presence that both the office and our passengers have come to rely on. He’s seen our company grow, evolve, and change, and through it all, he’s been a steady and a dependable figure on the road.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Gerarde quickly became one of the most requested drivers we’ve ever had. Day in, day out, we’d hear the same familiar requests:
“Is Gerarde free?”
“Can I get the same driver as yesterday – you know, Gerarde?”
“Please send Gerarde if he’s around!”
He built strong connections with our regulars, remembered details that made each passenger feel valued, and offered that rare consistency that made people feel safe and at ease. His professionalism, punctuality, and kind nature meant he wasn’t just a driver – he became part of our customers’ daily lives and routines.
In the office, Gerarde was just as appreciated. He was one of those drivers who made everything easier. Always courteous, always cool under pressure, and always willing to help out where he could. Whether it was covering an extra shift, taking on a tricky job, or simply being a supportive presence on the team – he never let us down.
His departure is a big moment for us – not just because we’re losing a great driver, but because we’re saying goodbye to someone who genuinely shaped our company culture. Thirteen years of service is no small achievement, and it’s a legacy that won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
Yesterday marked Gerarde’s final shift. Today, he begins a well-earned retirement – hopefully filled with everything he loves and more time to enjoy it. We imagine the days will be a little slower (no rush-hour traffic!), and hopefully a little more relaxed. But knowing Gerarde, we also wouldn’t be surprised if he still wakes up early – old habits die hard!
To our customers who’ve come to know and appreciate him – thank you for helping us give Gerarde the recognition he deserves. The requests, the kind comments, the loyalty – it all meant something, and it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.
And to Gerarde – from all of us at Price First Taxis – thank you. For your years of service, your kindness, your professionalism, and your unwavering commitment to both your passengers and your team. You’ve truly made a difference here, and we’re all better for having worked with you.
Enjoy this next chapter, take it slow (or fast – you’ve earned the choice!), and know that you’ll always be part of our family.
