8th August 2022 Update
Some of you will already be aware of the problems within the taxi industry, primarily the shortage of drivers, and the effects it is having on the customer. Long delays being the main issue at the moment with drivers not available to work nights which in turn means customers are left in potentially vulnerable situations.
After various failed attempts to increase driver numbers, I’m afraid that ourselves along with other companies have had the need to reintroduce tariff 2, in the hope to attract drivers to work these unsociable hours. Please understand that we have been very reluctant to choose this path, but feel that there is no alternative.
Please be aware that Tariff 2 will be reintroduced on the 8th August 2022 which will run from Monday to Friday 8pm – 6am and Saturday 7pm to Monday 6am, including Sunday.
17th April 2022.
We have held off with a fare increase for the past four years, but with ever increasing overheads our drivers are just unable to absorb these additional costs any longer. A temporary surcharge as you know was implemented because of the fuel crisis, but this barely helps with the fuel increase, let alone help with the already increased overheads.
We are the last amongst our competitors to increase the fares, but we’re unable to hold off any longer.
So with this in mind we have reduced the temporary fuel charge from 30p a journey to 20p, and have implemented a fare increase that will commence on the 17th April 2022. We are hopeful that in the near future we will be able to remove the surcharge altogether.
Please see below the details of our new rates.
